1. Where do you depart from?We can pick you up from anywhere in Cork Harbour - we’re that flexible! Our regular departure points include Cork City Marina, Cobh, Crosshaven, Monkstown, and Aghada. Want something extra special? We also offer private charters from places like Kinsale and Ballycotton. Got another spot in mind? Just ask - we love a challenge.

2. How long do the trips last?Trips start at 1 hour and can last as long as you like (within reason - we won’t take you to Spain). Cork City trips require a minimum of 3 hours due to speed restrictions. All trips include enough time to stop for refreshments - because adventure is best served with a drink in hand.

3. How fast do the boats go?Our boats are the fastest commercial RIBs in Cork Harbour, and that’s not marketing fluff - it’s a fact. We cruise at up to 25 knots (46 km/h), which is just the right speed to feel the thrill while still being able to take in the views.

4. Can I drive the boat?As much as we’d love to let you take the wheel, our skippers have fancy licenses that say otherwise. They are highly trained professionals (and slightly possessive of their boats). But don’t worry - you’ll feel like James Bond even from the passenger seat.

5. How many people can fit on the boat?We have the largest fleet in Cork Harbour, so we can cater to any group size! Our 12-seater RIBs are perfect for groups. Our luxury 8-seater boat is for those who like their adventure with a side of VIP treatment. Larger groups? No problem! We’ll just put on multiple boats and turn it into a flotilla.

7. Will I get seasick?We’ve taken over 15,000 passengers in a season, and not a single one has felt seasick. That’s not a lucky streak - our boats are designed to be fast, stable, and smooth. If you do feel queasy, we’ll just tell you it’s excitement.

8. What if the weather is too rough?Lucky for us, Cork Harbour is the second-largest natural harbour in the world - which means we can always find a sheltered route to keep your trip smooth. In extreme cases, we might reschedule - because adventure should be thrilling, not terrifying.

6. What if it rains?Ah yes, Ireland and rain - name a more iconic duo. But don’t panic! We provide GORE-TEX jackets to keep you dry. Rain doesn’t bother us much - it’s sea spray in denial. If conditions are really bad, we’ll reschedule or postpone so you get the best experience.

9. Can we bring drinks on board?For safety reasons, we don’t allow drinking on the boat - but don’t worry! All trips include time to stop at a bar or restaurant where you can refuel in style. Want to turn it into a proper day out? We can extend your trip to include food, drinks, and good times.

10. Will we see dolphins?Dolphins are freelancers - they come and go as they please. We often see them, but they don’t work for us (yet). No dolphins? No problem - you’ll still get a thrilling ride, stunning views, and a great story to tell.

11. Is this like a rollercoaster on water?Think James Bond chase scene, not theme park ride. It’s fast, smooth, and thrilling - but you won’t be leaving your stomach behind.

12. What should I wear?Comfort is key! Dress like you’re going on an adventure (because you are). Layers are your best friend. If it’s chilly, bring a hat and sunglasses - yes, even in Ireland.

13. What if I need to cancel?We get it - life happens. We only take a holding deposit, with full payment due before departure. If you cancel within the agreed time, you’ll get a full refund or the option to reschedule.

14. Are there any medical restrictions?If you have a pre-existing back condition, other medical issues, or if you’re pregnant, we strongly recommend waiting until you’re fit to travel.

15. Are there any age restrictions?Yes - you need to be in fit condition to step on and off the boat. Some boats require stepping down approx. 60cm. The minimum age to join a trip is 8 years old.

16. Are your boats wheelchair-friendly?Unfortunately, no - our boats have inflatable tubes and jockey-style seating, which are required by the Department of Marine for safety.

17. Can I bring my dog?We love dogs! (In fact, Ocean Escapes has its own sea dog who loves boat trips.) But unfortunately, we don’t allow pets on board - unless they have a captain’s hat and their own license.

18. Do you do private hire?Yes! Whether it’s a birthday, corporate event, or an elaborate scheme to impress your in-laws, we can tailor a trip just for you.

19. Do I need to be a good swimmer?Not at all! You’ll be wearing a life jacket, and our crew is trained to keep you safe. Bonus: The boats don’t actually stop in the middle of the sea for a swim, so unless you jump off (not recommended), you’ll stay dry.

20. Can I propose on board?We’ve had proposals happen before, and let’s just say - it’s a guaranteed “yes” when you’re mid-adventure. We can even help set the mood. Just let us know!

21. Can I book last minute?If there’s space available, absolutely! But we recommend booking in advance - our boats fill up fast.

22. Can I bring my own music?All of our RIBs have a state-of-the-art sound systems - we take requests! Just don’t ask for “My Heart Will Go On.” We have a strict no-Titanic-music policy.

23. Will I fall in?Not unless you really try - and if you do, we’ll fish you out with minimal teasing.
